However, today's low-CO2 energy sources are not yet sufficient to achieve carbon neutrality, currently representing only 13% of the global energy mix.<\/p><p>Against this backdrop of energy transition and growing global demand for electricity, SMRs (Small Modular Reactors) represent a concrete response:<\/p><ul><li>To replace<strong>\u00a0fossil fuel power plants<\/strong>emissions, high CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0and still overstretched<\/li><li>To overcome the difficulties of access to\u00a0<strong>low-carbon electricity for isolated areas\u00a0<\/strong>and off-grid installations<\/li><li>To meet the need for<strong>\u00a0low-carbon production,\u00a0<\/strong>as close to the need as possible (replacing generators, for example)<\/li><li>To compensate<strong>\u00a0the intermittency of renewable energies\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><li>To make the most of nuclear power<strong>\u00a0source of<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>electricity and heat production, including hydrogen production<\/strong><\/li><li>To get around the difficulties and constraints inherent in\u00a0<strong>major nuclear projects\u00a0<\/strong>(including financing)<\/li><li>To meet the needs\u00a0<strong>energy independence\u00a0<\/strong>many countries<\/li><\/ul><p>The development of a global market for SMRs is a key challenge for both governments and manufacturers wishing to develop and sell this new type of modular reactor.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f0c13ce
